County Routes & County Roots by.....Tom Rasely

Thanks to an Individual Artist Grant, composer/guitarist Tom Rasely will be creating a new musical composition. Part of the textural fabric of the piece will be short pre-recorded voices of area residents talking about Chenango County: the road they live on, why they stay, what's good about Chenango County life.

Tom Rasely has a long family history in music, and talking with him you can tell how proud he is of that. His creativity comes from deep within, and it seems that musical ability flows effortlessly through his veins. When his hands touch an instrument the two become one, and the sound that comes out is a joy to the ears. When composing, he draws on both his classical training, and his desire to innovate and explore new directions.
